Heading back to the Islands

Talofa lava friends and family
This Sunday I head back to Samoa with our 2 girls who have been with us in Christchurch on our 3 month Samoa Alofa Homestay Program.
Their time with us has been awesome! They have experienced freedom in the most simple ways……waking in the morning and choosing their breakfast, going shopping, sleeping in, going to a friends house, hanging at the park, hip-hop classes, helping in community and experiencing love and safety from a family.
We know it won’t be easy for them to return after this freedom, but we believe they now see God in a new way; a God who loves unconditionally without judgment or shame.
We are grateful to our host families who have loved these beautiful girls and who in turn have been impacted by them.
While in Samoa, I’ll also be spending time in the Shelter with the children there. It’s never easy returning knowing I’ll see many new faces added, more babies born and seeing this epidemic of abuse of God’s children continue in real life and real time….
